Before he won a seat in the United States Senate, John Edwards was one of our partners when the firm was known as Edwards & Kirby, LLP. His skill and committed representation, together with that of his partner David Kirby, won the largest personal injury verdict in North Carolina history in 1997.

When John Edwards left the firm in 1998 to represent our state in the Senate, current partners David Kirby and Mark Holt renamed the firm, but continued the record of achievement established from the firm's beginnings. Kirby & Holt continues to have far more million-dollar verdicts and settlements than any other law firm in North Carolina.
