Mark Holt Establishes Justice Funds to Honor Mentors

Mark Holt established two Justice Fund endowments through the N.C. Bar Association Foundation to honor two attorneys who inspired him to become a lawyer.

The Bar Association honored Jim Nance and D.P. Russ, two Fayetteville lawyers who were inspirational to Mark when he was growing up in Fayetteville. Both attended the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville, where Mark's father was the minister.

"They were leaders in our church, leaders in our community, and people of integrity who dedicated themselves to others," Mark said. "Their example inspired me to become a lawyer."

The Justice Fund endowments, of $35,000 each, are used for law-related service projects and programs. The James R. Nance and D. P. Russ Jr. Justice Funds were dedicated at the N.C. Bar Center.
